me and my friends found this wiki a few weeks ago and got inspired and decided to make a alien race similar to the avali. so pretty much the aliens we made (they are called kurdis) are genocidal scieince obssesed minature space parrots.*inhale* they live on a world of extremes known to them as kurthiuias (translates to great city in their language), filled with deserts and jungles and big funguses. oh and yeah kurdis have wings, so they can fly very fast. kurdi soldiers have theirs clipped so that they fit into armour better. on a side note, me and 2 other people are actually fluent in their language (kurdash)
now lets get ot their society
their govermental system is a coucil of fourteen kurdis called magistraites that make decisions for the empire. below them are the administraitors, witch manage cities and towns. their empire currently consists of two star systems, kiari'dene (their homeworld) and ikia'de (the first interstellar colony) their religion is kinda wack, they belive that when a kurdi dies, its spirit is brought to a spirt world, where it has divinity bestowed upon it by the older spirits. (or it is cursed to limbo)
they are mostly carnivores, and have a liking for vinegar type flavors.
they also have a kind of snooty attitude toward most other species, although a few people have got on their good side. (epmhasis on "few")
ON TO THEIR MILITARY
they use cyberwarfare quite librally, and their starships are borderline ridiculous in size.
their genral tactic is to hammer the enemy into scrap and then sweep the leftovers with infantry and tanks. as for space, who needs tactics when you have more guns on a single ship than the entirety of the united states military and air force?
(in laymans terms, they use big brain and bigger gun.)
anyways, that is the kurdis. the kurdi agency of external affairs thanks you for your time.
Simply put it, thank you fore making this wonderful species of fluffy cute space raptors, i just discovered then a few weeks ago, and they quickly becam one of my faverate species, i honestly glad i discovered them. i cant stray away from them since i discovered them, im currently working on a fanfic set in an au, which i needed to read up on thair lore in order to have the story consistent, its called DarkSignal, it has nothing to do with starbound, tho it is completely sci-fi, the period it takes place in as a period called the DarkSignal which is due to an mysterious interception the avali discovered, this having benn the colony ship Oddsy 5, a massive human vessel carrying the last of humanity for well over a thousond years, in cryogenic sleep
"@Cosmo: I actually dropped in on the triage discord around the time you posted that message to answer questions and see what was going on. believe it or not I do actually have a project in the pipeline for them." - From one of your comments on Biology.
Mind elaborating on this project you have? You've got me intrigued.
I'm Ruby Dragon#0594 on discord if you wanna ping or dm me. Or don't if you wanna keep it a secret. I'm just curious, that's all.
Sorry about the late reply, I don't check by here often.
It's not a huge secret, I've discussed with with a few groups of people in various places, though not one I'd pushed about too much either lest people get too excited.
But there is an upcoming Minecraft-like that is designed from ground up to be completely moddable by design called Hytale. It's still too early to make any concrete plans, the game itself is still in late alpha/early beta, so the full scope and limits on what can be done are still unknown. But at a minimum i intend to create an official playable race pack for the Avali in the game.
If the game proves to have the moddability chops it appears to, then a more complete mod is almost certain and an official server extremely likely. However I should warn people reading this and revving their hype engines; Hytale itself is still a long way from released, any complete mod is likely at least a year or more away.
Yea, we got hyped up in the triage discord about that, but either way that'll be an interesting prospect! I actually thought of possibly make avali models and blocks for hytale a bit ago while i was still super hyped for hytale but oh well, it's for you make the mod as you ARE the Avali Master :D
Can't wait for hytale to come out and your project makes me want it more now XD.
Are you still alive? If so thank you for showing me and everyone your hard-work, Your modding skills have no bounds!, I hope that no one will make a fake account that claims to be "Real". Oh by the way last question before I go. Did you have (Or used to have ) a YouTube account?
I don't Know Why,But I Got A Feeling That you're not doing well and you're trying to be brave. Well, just to let you know Everyone Loves your work. But most importantly, They Care for You. Don't forget that alright? ~One Of Many of the community
I havn't. Seeing how much attention they seem to continue to draw in I really want to try reconnect with things a bit, but havn't really got a good way in mind to do so.
The concept started out as a random bit of theorycraft, and later I wanted to try explore and depict those ideas in a game format. Starbound wasn't intended to grow as big as it did since it's a terrible format to explore them in with it's 2D world and low-sci schlock setting, but neither has anything really come along better suitted.
Second Life had potential but, I've tried get into that and absolutely could not (And besides they're better suited to a game format where I can add story hooks where players can explore some of the "hidden lore" not found on the wiki proper). I did try experiment with Stellaris but the portrait exporter is janky as hell and wasn't playing nice despite weeks of experimentation to isolate the problem, and the exporter dev wasn't much help either.
That's something I want to revisit once I pluck up the courage to try again
Using Drawables and a bunch of other animated and technical shit, I am asking for permission to use the Avali Race mod and Avali wiki and such to make a vanilla compatible mod with complete credit to you and links to the original mod and wiki.
